Bio

“I have come that you may have life and have it abundantly.” (John 10:10)

Marla Williams loves life and adventure and is thankful to serve a God who loves it even more than she does!  She grew up a Florida girl, enamored by the ocean, every tree, playground, and ball field she could find.  The daughter of a minister and teacher, she had a hard work ethic and love of education instilled in her from a young age.  She also enjoys lying in her hammock, playing the guitar, and ANY outdoor adventurous activity, but the fun-value skyrockets when it involves sun and water.

Marla was a three sport athlete in high school and continued as a soccer player at NCAA Div 1 Stetson University where she majored in Exercise Science-Rehabilitative Studies.  After a brief time of working in outpatient rehab, she moved to North Carolina to intern with the Women’s United Soccer Association’s Carolina Courage in the fields of Athletic Training and Strength & Conditioning.  She then became a teacher, coach, and FCA huddle coach at Lee County High School, the then largest and most diverse public high school in North Carolina.  She earned a M.Ed. in Exercise Science at Campbell University during her five years of teaching and coaching Varsity Volleyball, Soccer and Softball.  She holds several soccer coaching credentials: the NSCAA National Diploma, USSF’s National “D” license, as well as NSCA’s Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist Credential.  Marla spent 3 years on FCA staff as a college chaplain after going through FCA’s chaplain training program and has served the athletes and coaches of Auburn, Clemson, and San Jose State Universities.  She has served High School, College and Professional athletes and coaches nationwide.  She now serves the athletic department at Georgia Tech and is pursuing a Master’s of Divinity.  She is excited to use all the lessons learned as an athlete, educator, coach, and campus minister to impact her world.  With reckless abandon, she is setting out to impact and influence her world.

Marla is available to be a resource and to speak within FCA and beyond.  To contact her regarding this, email her at:
